Rough draft on various art shows: Group Show @ Spirit Gallery

    - Next event Thursday, Jan 23rd, 2014, 7PM until as late as we like.

Most important, you can stare at art objects from a great group show as you misinterpret for yourself what these poets and magicians are saying and playing (what Harold Bloom called misprision.) And since some spoken word is better with musical improvisation, or sound collage, I hope you gifted musicians/composers will consider collaborating together.

We want to make these “Open Mic’s” an unconventional affair entangling sublime local and visiting voices with visual art shows at art galleries. So please come to view and/or do something which pushes the envelope of poetry, music, or what have you. All mediums acceptable

A few other Ken Boe events from the past below:

On May 25th there will be an extremely cool group show in WIchita Kansas, with Bill McBride, myself, and others to be announce. Its a big warehouse space in the heart of the arts district, and we still have room for more artists. See above statement about that, but here is another glimpse:

There is an interesting video of my artistic process filmed at Miami Art Works, and at a show in Phoenix, shot by Neal Johnson, and edited by Anna Moncada. You can find that here:

Here is a bizarre video by Jim Coates of my show Found Wind On A Found Object, April 20-22 (with Julian Forest on guitar) 417 W. Sullivan Street, Miami AZ 85539

I also had my largest mixed-media encaustic painting to date up at The Firehouse Gallery, 1015 N. 1st Street in Downtown Phoenix. The big Art Detour weekend is today, March 17th, and the 18th, but you may also catch this group show April 6th for First Friday.

In April I will have several UV encaustic paintings up in an encaustic show in Chicago at Eyeporium Gallery, 1431 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL. Call for dates and hours: (773) 782-1744

..and then there’s that struggling artist thing:
